MMCC After School

The Discovery Club

This program serves elementary school children from kindergarten through sixth grade. The program runs from the end of the school day until 6:00pm. For additional fees, you can elect the Late Coverage program which ends at 6:30pm.

At MMCC, we believe that children flourish in an afterschool program that offers opportunities for educational reinforcement and social recreation.The program curriculum includes: homework help and tutoring; interactive and educational games; art classes, ceramics, theatre arts, puppetry, sports including soccer, basketball and floor hockey, cooking workshops, computers. We have special collaborations with the Children’s Museum of Manhattan and the Department of Environmental Conservation’s After School Conservation Club to provide enriched literacy and science programming. We provide special after school trips such as bowling, ice skating, trips to the Botanical Gardens, and many others! All of our programs and trips are included in the annual tuition. We are also a member of the national Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

The program runs in accordance with the NYC Department of Education schedule. Our program is closed when public schools are closed.

We offer school pickup from public and parochial schools in Norwood, Van Cortlandt Village and Bedford Park. To accommodate children who attend parochial schools, we pick up on Early Wednesdays and First Fridays.

School pickups include: Escort services from P.S. 94, PS 280, MS 80, St. Ann's. Van service is available from PS 56, 95, 8, 41, St. Brendan’s, St. Phillip Neri, Visitation.

School bus pickups: School buses from Bronx New School, Kinneret, River East, and Fieldston schools stop at our corner and escorts are available for pickup at the bus stops.
